The Pakistan-Cuba Social Forum Joins in Solidarity with the Homeland of Martí and Fidel

Islamabad, May 8, 2026. In a gesture of solidarity to strengthen the bonds of friendship, cooperation, and cultural exchange between both nations, the full leadership of the Pakistan-Cuba Social Forum (PCSF) visited the Cuban Embassy in this capital to reaffirm to Ambassador Damián Cordero Torres their commitment to solidarity with Cuba, in light of the intensification of the blockade and the executive orders issued by the Trump administration.

Mr. Ramzan Mughal, president of the Forum, who was accompanied by Jam Khursheed, lawyer and secretary general, and Agha Amjid Ali, coordinator of the organization, as well as other representatives, led the delegation.

During the meeting, held in a spirit of fraternity, the long-standing friendship between the two nations was reviewed, as well as the Pakistani people’s gratitude for Cuba’s selfless solidarity during the 2005 earthquake; the need and commitment to strengthen ties with the Cuban people through collaboration in various sectors, focused on the promotion of culture and social values, was also discussed. Mr. Ramzan Mujal reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to its mission, and all representatives agreed on the need to intensify concrete gestures of solidarity with Cuba.

Cuban Ambassador Damián Cordero expressed his gratitude for the gesture by the Pakistan-Cuba Social Forum, in light of the intensified blockade facing the Caribbean nation, imposed by the U.S. government through a ruthless and unprecedented extraterritorial economic war, with President Donald Trump’s executive orders in January and their subsequent implementation as of May 1, along with the avalanche of unilateral coercive measures unjustly designed against the Cuban people. The Cuban ambassador agreed with the representatives of the Pakistan-Cuba Social Forum on the masterful phrase "a friend in need is a friend indeed",  as Cuba has always demonstrated.
