Patriotic contribution from Cubans in Saint Lucia to the fight against the coronavirus

In the past few days a patriotic and solidarity initiative was materialized by a group of Cuban residents in Saint Lucia, who decided to make a donation to contribute to the fight against Covid-19 in Cuba. Yanet Borrego, Daile Cedeño, Gilberto Aranguren, Pedro Font and Yoel Rondon took on this gesture on behalf of the Patriotic Association of Cuban Residents in Saint Lucia and sent a donation through a bank transfer to the Cuban Public Health System. This donation will be used in the work being undertaken by the Ministry of Public Health in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic, in which health professionals are involved, together with Government institutions and social organizations. The members of the Patriotic Association of Cuban Residents in Saint Lucia visited the Cuban Embassy to symbolically highlight this initiative. They expressed their desire, in this way reaffirming their commitment to Cuba, at these difficult times and from their modest possibilities, to contribute to the great effort that the whole country is making in the fight against Covid-19. Upon receiving them, the Ambassador, Alejandro Simancas, acknowledged this noble gesture, which, he said, uplifts us all as Cubans. He highly valued the initiative that reinforces the values of solidarity and unity that we owe to our Homeland and conveyed to them that this action helps those in need and also makes the persons giving it better people.
