Stockholm, September 14, 2023 – On September 14, a new edition of the Peace Run was held in Sundbyberg, Stockholm, this time dedicated to the causes of Palestine and Cuba. The event gathered more than 300 participants of all ages, exceeding the turnout of previous editions, and established itself as a manifestation of solidarity and commitment to just causes and to peoples suffering from injustice and oppression.
Yohanna Cordero, Second Secretary of the Cuban Embassy in Sweden, attended the event on behalf of the diplomatic mission, reaffirming Cuba's unconditional support for the Palestinian cause and strongly condemning the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba. Cordero also denounced the unjust inclusion of the island on the list of State Sponsors of Terrorism, a measure that was widely criticized by the participants.
During the race, the runners carried banners and signs expressing their support for these causes, with clear messages of solidarity with Palestine and condemnation of the blockade and coercive policies against Cuba. The event was not only an expression of support for just causes but also an opportunity to continue joining forces in the fight for peace and justice.
