The Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations commemorated the 65th anniversary of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC, in the Spanish acronym), an organization founded on August 23, 1960, which has been a pillar in the defense of women's rights and gender equality in Cuban society.
The event highlighted the legacy of Vilma Espín, a symbol of women's emancipation and the struggle for social justice, who dedicated her life to ensuring women's leadership in the construction of the revolutionary project. The FMC continues to be inspired by these principles, consolidating the full participation of Cuban women in all spheres of national life.
With this commemoration, we reaffirm our historic commitment to the promotion of women's rights and equality, in line with the values of inclusion and social justice that guide the Revolution.
