The Permanent Mission of Cuba to the UN commemorates the 92nd Anniversary of the birth of the Historical Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz

New York, August 13, 2018. The Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations commemorated on Monday, August 13, the birth of the Historical Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz.

The emotional tribute celebrated the life and work of the beloved leader and his undying example that continues to guide the future of Cubans. His teachings and invaluable legacy of dignity, unity, resistance, solidarity and internationalism were remembered.

On the keynote speech of the ceremony it was stressed that Fidel "placed Cuba in the highest point, by making a Marxist-Leninist socialist revolution, of young people, workers and peasants, of the humble, by the humble and for the humble, just 90 miles from the Yankee imperialism, which filled the oppressed and exploited people of the world with light, and inspired the struggles for the definitive liberation and full freedom in our region and other continents ".

The commemoration ended with an unwavering reaffirmation of eternal gratitude and commitment; a promise to be on a par with our beloved Commander in Chief and to continue fighting to defend with dignity the ideals and principles to which he devoted his life.

"Indispensable persons never die; they open trenches in the chest, with their extraordinary example." Those present reasserted that Fidel is more alive than ever, since his legacy can be found in every achievement of the Revolution, throughout the world and in the very heart of the Cuban Homeland.

Ever onward to victory, eternal Commander in Chief!
