Permanent Secretary of the Bahamian Foreign Ministry receives the certified true copies of the Letters of Credence of the Cuban Ambassador

Nassau, November 25th, 2019. Today, the Cuban Ambassador, Alejandro García del Toro, presented at the headquarters of the Chancellery of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, the certified true copies of his Letters of Credence to the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Peter Deveaux -Isaacs.

At the meeting, the Bahamian diplomat highlighted the positive and longstanding relationships between the two countries, in addition to wishing success to our representative. For its part, the Cuban diplomat conveyed the interest of maintaining and expanding the existing links between the two nations, stressing the areas of education, health and the climate change. He also acknowledged the permanent support of The Bahamas for its position in the United Nations Organization against the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba.

The meeting took place in a cordial atmosphere. The Director General Sharon Brennen-Haylock and other executives and officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also participated in the meeting; and First Secretary Yusimí Pompa, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. from the Cuban embassy.
