Uganda, October 11, 2018.- The permanent secretary of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism of Burundi, Samson Ndayizeye, received the Cuban Ambassador Antonio Luis Pubillones Izaguirre yesterday, who is visiting the African country.
During the fraternal meeting, both parties recognized the good state of bilateral relations and reaffirmed the will of their governments and peoples to work for their strengthening. They also expressed their desire to explore opportunities for collaboration in the Tourism and Commerce sectors.
The Burundian leader thanked Cuba for its contribution to the struggles for the independence of Africa and in particular the Cuban collaboration in his country in the sectors of Health and Education and affirmed that his country would vote in favor of the Cuban resolution against the blockade next October 31.
The Ambassador, for his part, thanked Ndayizeye for the traditional support of the people and the Government of Burundi for the struggle of the Cuban people against the criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the government of the United States for almost six decades.
The meeting was also attended by the Burundian side, Glorize Ntibaruntaye, personal assistant to the minister and Serge Birzanye, director of Industrial Development of the ministry. (Embacuba Uganda)
