Philippines and Cuba exchange views on Higher Education

Kuala Lumpur, October 13, 2025. Interesting exchange between the Cuban ambassador Yadira Ledesma Hernández and the Minister of Higher Education of the Philippines Dr. Shirley Agrupis (Chairperson Philippine Commission on Higher Education) at Rizal Centre in the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Kuala Lumpur.

Higher education is an area with potential for greater cooperation between Cuba and the Philippines.

The occasion was opportune to extend the invitation to the 15th International Congress on Higher Education – Universidad 2026, to be held in Havana, Cuba, from February 9 to 13, 2026.

Cuba is honored to offer free scholarships for Filipino students at its higher education centers in the medical sciences.
