Manila-Kuala Lumpur, April 30, 2025. Members of the Philippines-Cuba Cultural and Friendship Association (PHILCUBA) held a fruitful exchange via video conference with Cuban Ambassador Yadira Ledesma Hernández.
The occasion was useful to update Cuba's friends in the Philippines on national events on the Caribbean island, with whom they have maintained for 25 years a beautiful work of solidarity and historical-cultural exchange, promoting relations between the two nations.
PHILCUBA was informed about the programs being developed by the Cuban government for the transformation of neighborhoods and vulnerable communities; about the plans aimed at changing the country's energy matrix; the policies that continue to be promoted for the advancement of women; the new forms of management and the new actors in the Cuban economy, and the obstacles that our people continue to face due to the intensified implementation of the illegal US blockade policy against Cuba.
The members of the PHILCUBA Association reiterated their solidarity with the Cuban people and their firm support for the international demand for the lifting of the genocidal blockade against Cuba and the exclusion of the island from the spurious list of countries supposedly sponsoring terrorism.
