PNP leaders reaffirm their support for Cuba in times of Covid-19.

Kingston, Jamaica, 21 July 2020. The President of the People's National Party of Jamaica (PNP) and Leader of the Opposition, Dr. Peter Phillips, and the Opposition Spokesperson on Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Ms. Lisa Hanna, reaffirmed today their rejection of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba, the new measures to strengthening it in the midst of the global pandemic of Covid-19 disease, and the campaign to discredit Cuba's international medical cooperation.

On a courtesy call paid by the Head of the Cuban State Mission in Jamaica, Ambassador Inés Fors Fernández, to the PNP headquarters, the Cuban diplomat thanked Dr. Phillips for the firm position assumed by his political organization against the attempt of three American senators to promote a bill criminalizing Cuba's international medical cooperation, as well as for their continuous support, for ten consecutive years, to the Jamaican Parliament´s approval of resolutions demanding the lifting of the criminal US blockade against Cuba.
