As a tribute to Commander Ernesto Che Guevara, on the 58th anniversary of his fall in Bolivia, the book "CHE OF POETRY - The Poet of Poets" by poet and writer Babis Zafiratos, published by NEW STAR Publishing, was presented in Athens.
The 650-page book focuses on the poet Che, a previously little-known facet of his life, while also highlighting his great love of poetry.
— Includes: Poems by Che, his texts and stories, songs written by others about him, his favorite poems, those he left for his wife when he left for Bolivia, those he carried with him until the very end…
— With an introduction to his poetry, an extensive chronobiography (The Events Behind the Texts), and numerous references, which demonstrate that Che also excelled as a chess player, economist, archaeologist, and photographer…
— It is documented with excerpts from the books of Aleida March, Hilda Gadea, Che himself (his diaries, letters, speeches), his biographers…
— It is accompanied by an alphabetical index of names and acronyms, seven portraits of the translator, twenty-five photographs, most of them by the photographer Che, and numerous footnotes…
It could well be said that Che is the Poet of Poets, since—in addition to his poems having undeniable literary value and him being the Great Poet of the Revolution—poetry and poets never they abandoned him.
