The Popular Consultation on the Cuban Family Code was held in the Cuban State Mission in Barbados.

The Popular Consultation on the Cuban Family Code was held in Barbados.

Between Saturday, March 5 and Sunday, March 6, 2022, two meetings were held in Barbados in which the group of members of the ¨Henry Reeve¨ Medical Brigade that provides services to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, the sports trainers and Cuban diplomats on mission in this country, after studying the bill distributed for weeks, all had the opportunity to contribute their criteria in the form of additions, modifications, deletions and comments to the bill, which were collected by the table made up of three representatives of the three sectors of the Cuban collaborators in Barbados.

The meetings held on two different days offered the opportunity to all registered voters to attend depending on the work shifts in the tasks they perform and in this way we were able to guarantee the participation of 100 percent of Cuban voters registered in Barbados in the Popular Consultation of the Family Code.

The meetings were held in the gardens of the Barbados Rockley Resort, in the open air and guaranteeing the required privacy while maintaining compliance with the protocols established for holding meetings currently in the reopening stage due to COVID-19.

It was a propitious moment to congratulate the female component of this state mission, which is the majority, for the proximity of International Women's Day, a sector of Cuban society for which the new Cuban Family Code undoubtedly shows significant contributions.
