Positive repercussion in Egyptian media of the event in honor to José Martí on the 130th anniversary of his fall in combat

Cairo, May 21, 2025. The event held last May 19 to pay homage to Cuba's National Hero, José Martí, on the 130th anniversary of his Fall in Combat, has had a positive impact on the Egyptian media.

All the articles published highlighted the words of the Cuban Ambassador where he emphasized the validity of Martí's ideology and how today it continues to be a beacon and guide for the new generations of Cubans who continue to defend the independence and sovereignty of the island.

Likewise, reference was made to the words dedicated by Martí to Egypt when he criticized the colonialist efforts of France and England to annex the Suez Canal, when he said in 1881, “the spirit of commerce tries to drown the spirit of independence: the generous son of the desert bites the whip and breaks the hand of the selfish son of the Old Continent”.

A total of 5 newspapers reported the news. Among the media that highlighted the event were the “Liga Hispanoarabe”, “Al Nahar”, “Al Safir” and “Al Wasat Al Alamia”. (Embacuba Egipto)
