Presentation of Credentials by the Cuban Ambassador Luis Ernesto Morejón Rodríguez in the Cook Islands

Rarotonga, November 6, 2024.- Diplomat Luis Ernesto Morejón Rodríguez presented his credentials to the King's Representative in the Cook Islands, His Excellency Sir Tom Marsters, accrediting him as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba.
The ceremony reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to strengthening their diplomatic and cooperative ties.
During the exchange, Sir Marsters highlighted the value of the relationship between the two nations, which is rooted in mutual respect and a shared commitment to addressing common challenges.
He commended Cuba’s contributions to the development of local human resources as well as its collaboration in the health sector.
According to Sir Marsters, this spirit of solidarity and mutual assistance serves as a model for international cooperation and reflects the values shared by both countries.
In turn, Ambassador Luis Ernesto Morejón Rodríguez reaffirmed Cuba’s commitment to Small Island Developing States and emphasized the importance of exchanging experiences and lessons to better serve communities and peoples.
He reiterated Cuba’s willingness to continue promoting solidarity, cooperation, and integration between the two nations.
Finally, the ambassador conveyed greetings from the Cuban people and government to the people and government of the Cook Islands and expressed his best wishes for prosperity and personal well-being to His Majesty King Charles III.
The ceremony and subsequent exchange represented a new chapter in the relationship between Cuba and the Cook Islands, which, despite geographic distance, continues to grow and strengthen for the benefit and development of both countries.
