Presentation on Cuba in Stockholm

Stockholm, January 17 – Organized by the United Left (UI) Stockholm Assembly, the presentation titled "Cuba: The Immanent Updating of a Structure in Perpetual Transformation" took place at Kafe Marx. The Second Secretary in charge of Consular Affairs at the Cuban Embassy in Sweden, Yohanna Cordero Llanuch, attended the event upon the organizers' invitation.

The presentation was delivered by Professor and Doctor of Contemporary History, Daniel Rodríguez Suárez, who eloquently discussed, for nearly an hour, how Cuba has evolved throughout its revolutionary history. He also analyzed the negative impact and influence of U.S. hostile policies, spanning from the first year of the Cuban Revolution to the present, which have hindered the normal development of Cuban society.

During the meeting, attendees unanimously agreed that it is impossible to analyze the current Cuban situation without considering the U.S. blockade. Any judgment excluding this critical factor would lack complete truthfulness. It was emphasized that the damages caused by the U.S. blockade against Cuba for over 60 years have resulted in incalculable material and human losses for the island, directly influencing the country's current circumstances.

The evening provided an opportunity to debate and gain a deeper understanding of Cuba's reality—a reality that many Western media outlets deliberately choose to ignore or distort but one that, regardless of their interests, exists independently.

The United Left Assembly in Stockholm was born within the framework of the Global UI Assembly, established to advocate for the rights of workers who have emigrated to other countries, with particular emphasis on Spanish emigrants residing in Sweden.
