Presentation of the results of Nation and Emigration to the Cuban community residing in the United Arab Emirates

Abu Dhabi, January 21, 2023. The Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, hosted the meeting with a representation of the Cuban community living in the Arab nation, to learn about the results of the topics addressed in Havana, at the Fourth Conference on the Nation and Emigration, held last November.

The diplomatic representation hall welcomed Cubans residing in the Emirates of Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah, who, accompanied by their families, received the summary made by the Consul of Cuba, Anidelys Rojas Perera.

At the meeting, the measures gradually adopted in favor of the Cuban community residing abroad were recognized, which are also the result of having addressed concerns in immigration and notarial matters in recent years. Those present learned data about the increase in the processing of passports and legalization of documents in Cuba, at levels never seen before, which has required, it was explained, a redoubled effort on the part of Cuban institutions, in the midst of known economic difficulties.

The Consul of Cuba in the Emirates reiterated the will of those who hold the responsibility of representing the State abroad, to never fail in the sacred duty of serving each Cuban and called on fellow emigrants to contribute with creative proposals, from the love for the land where they were born, to trace new routes towards the necessary progress of the Cuban nation.

The Ambassador of Cuba, Norberto Carlos Escalona Carrillo, reiterated the permanent willingness to continue expanding ties with the Cuban community present in the United Arab Emirates, taking an interest in their personal and professional situation, ensuring their rights as Cuban citizens and the rights acquired as residents in a foreign country. He emphasized the importance of the community being characterized by solidarity and fraternity, values that distinguish the sons of the largest of the Antilles.
