The President of the Chamber of Commerce of Jamaica and the Cuban Ambassador to that country discuss the expansion of bilateral economic ties.

Kingston, Jamaica, 12 June 2019. This Wednesday in the afternoon, Cuban Ambassador H.E Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández received Mr. Lloyd Distant Jr., President of the Chamber of Commerce of Jamaica.

At the meeting, Mr. Distant explained the structure, characteristics and functions of his institution, as well as its relationship with the Chambers of Commerce of the different parishes of Jamaica and other Caribbean islands.

The parties agreed on the relevance of expanding and strengthening relations between the Chambers of Commerce of Jamaica and Cuba, as a way to connect companies from the two countries and increase trade and investment in both directions.

The Ambassador took the opportunity to reiterate the invitation to the Chamber and to the Jamaican companies to the EXPOCARIBE and FIHAV trade fairs, which will take place this year in Santiago de Cuba and Havana, respectively.
