The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, met this Tuesday with the executive vice president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, comrade Delcy Rodríguez Gómez, who chairs her country's delegation to the XXI Venezuela-Cuba Intergovernmental Commission. During the fraternal meeting, the president ratified Cuba's commitment to solidarity with the Venezuelan nation, as well as the will to continue improving bilateral cooperation. Díaz-Canel forcefully rejected the coercive and unilateral measures of the United States and its allies against the Homeland of Simón Bolívar and Hugo Chávez. The Venezuelan Vice President reiterated her rejection of the tightening of the United States blockade against Cuba. The occasion was also propitious to exchange on aspects of a bilateral and multilateral nature, including the progress of collaborative ties, as well as the current regional and international political situation, nuanced by the effects of COVID-19 for our peoples. The Venezuelan Vice President was accompanied by Gabriela Jiménez, Minister of Popular Power for Science and Technology; Wilmar Castro Soteldo, Minister of Popular Power for Productive Agriculture and Lands; and Adán Chávez Frías, Venezuelan ambassador to Cuba.
