Helsinki, August 10, 2022.- The President of the Republic of Finland, Sauli Niinistö, met this Wednesday with the Cuban ambassador, Beatriz Parra González, at his residence in this capital.
During the meeting, the president was interested in learning about what is happening in the industrial zone of Matanzas, and highlighted the progress made by Cuba in the biotechnology, during the confrontation with the COVID-19 pandemic. He also referred to issues on the bilateral and global agenda, and signified the traditional interest of Finnish tourism in the Greater Antilles.
For her part, the Cuban diplomat referred to the country's economic situation since the tightening of the blockade during the pandemic period, at which time she meant Finland's support for Cuba's denunciation of this retrograde policy of the White House, that has left an extensive mark on the daily life of the Cuban people.
