The President of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Numan Kurtulmuş, arrived in Cuba in the early hours of this May 8 for an official visit, in response to an invitation extended by his counterpart Esteban Lazo Hernández.
Upon his arrival at Havana's "José Martí" international airport, he was received by Ana María Mari Machado, vice-president of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State.
During his stay in our country at the head of a parliamentary delegation from the Eurasian nation, the distinguished visitor will be received at the National Capitol by his Cuban counterpart, will hold talks with other authorities and will visit places of historical and cultural interest, among other activities.
Also present at the welcoming ceremony at the air terminal were Council of State member Yury Valdés Balbín, president of the Cuba-Türkiye Parliamentary Friendship Group; Jesús Rafael Mora González, director of International Relations of the Cuban legislature; Jorge Luis Alfonzo Ramos, deputy director of Europe and Canada of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Vehbi Esgel Etensel, ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye in Havana.
The delegation of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye is also composed of deputies Murat Emir; Filiz Kiliç; Selman Özboyaci, chairman of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with the Republic of Türkiye.
