As part of the program of his official visit to Cuba; the President of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Numan Kurtulmuş, deposited this Wednesday a wreath in homage to the National Hero José Martí, at the Memorial that perpetuates the work of the Apostle in Havana's Revolution Square.
He was accompanied at the ceremony by Ana María Mari Machado, vice president of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State; Yury Valdés Balbín, member of the Council of State and head of the Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Türkiye; Jesús Rafael Mora González, director of International Relations of the Cuban legislature; Jorge Luis Alfonzo Ramos, deputy director of Europe and Canada of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Vehbi Esgel Etensel, ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye in Havana.
"On the occasion of my visit to the friendly and sister Republic of Cuba, representing the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, I am pleased to be present at this magnificent monument dedicated to José Martí. I pay tribute to Martí, the pioneer of the struggle for Cuba's independence, the poet and writer who continues to guide his country with his ideals and patriotism," Numan Kurtulmuş captured as he initialed the visitors' book at the José Martí Memorial.
Numan Kurtulmuş arrived in the Greater of the Antilles in the early hours of this May 8 on an official visit at the head of a parliamentary delegation from the Eurasian nation, in response to an invitation extended by his counterpart Esteban Lazo Hernandez. During his stay in our country, he was received at the National Capitol, will hold talks with other authorities and will visit places of historical and cultural interest, among other activities.
The delegation of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye is also integrated by the deputies Murat Emir; Filiz Kiliç; Selman Özboyaci, president of the Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Cuba; and Ahmet Gökhan Sariçam; among other directors and officials of the legislative body.
