Accra, 11 September. President of ICAP, Hero of the Republic of Cuba MP, Fernando González Llort, was received in a fraternal meeting by H.E. John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, in his office at Jubilee House.
Fernando thanked President Mahama on his behalf and on behalf of his other brothers for his personal commitment in the struggle for their liberation and for all the solidarity gestures of the government al people of Ghana in regards to US blockade on Cuba. President Mahama on his part acknowledged the role of Cuba in the struggles against the apartheid regime and the liberation of Africa. Other important topics on the bilateral and international agenda were discussed in a fraternal way.
Fernando was accompanied by H.E. Julio E. Pujol Torres, Ambassador of Cuba to Ghana, Yahimi Rodríguez, ICAP's Director for Africa and the Middle East Division and Yamil E. Martínez Marrero, Second Secretary at the Embassy.
As part of his visit to Ghana ICAP President Fernando González, fulfil an intense agenda that covered a wreath laying at the monument to the Founding Father of Independence of this sister country, Dr Kwame Nkrumah, a meeting with representatives of the Cuba Solidarity Campaign, the Association of Graduates in Cuba, doctors from the Medical Brigade, and many other friends, and an interviewed on Pan African TV for its Talk Time programme led by the prominent Ghanaian journalist and managing editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. Among many other activities.
