Mr. Shaibu Dawud, President of the Private Universities Student Association (PUSAG) paid a courtesy call on the Ambassador of Cuba, Mr. Pedro Luis Despaigne González, with whom he addressed the provision to strengthen ties with Cuba.
The President of PUSAG, after thanking the reception, had words of praise for Cuba, highlighting the support that the Antillean archipelago has given to the formation of young people of his country.
The Cuban Ambassador stressed that the ties established with the previous leadership of PUSAG will remain with the new leaders. He also referred to how young Cubans have been key actors in the revolutionary struggles of the Cuban people.
The Cuban diplomat also addressed the close ties between the youth of both countries, strengthened by the presence on Cuban soil in past and present times of about two thousand Ghanaian students in different specialties, ratifying Cuba's willingness to maintain its commitment to Ghana and with the African continent.
The President of PUSAG, who was accompanied at the meeting by the Director of International Relations, Mr. Bright Bilson, announced his interest in visiting Cuba with the purpose of exchanging experiences with his Cuban counterparts. For the Embassy of Cuba, the First Secretary, Julio César Sánchez, was also present.
