Accra, March 19, 2025. - On this Wednesday morning, the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John D. Mahama, received the Cuban Foreign Minister, H.E. Mr. Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla at the Jubilee House.
The Minister was accompanied by H.E. Mr. Julio Enrique Pujol Torres and Mr. Luís Alberto Amorós Nuñez, Cuban Ambassador to Ghana and Director of Sub-Saharan Africa at Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, respectively. Also present as part of the delegation were Yurielkys Sarduy Martínez, Second Head of the Secretariat of the Minister; Yamil Eduardo Martínez Marrero, Second Secretary of the Embassy and Alisbel Hechavarria Isaac, Official of the Secretariat of the Minister, among others.
On the Ghanaian side were present Mrs. Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Special Advisor to the President and Mr. Aikins Abrokwa, Director of Protocol of the Presidency; as well as Foreign Ministry officials headed by Ambassador Ramses Joseph Cleland, Director General; Mr. Gustav Dovlo, Director of Protocol; Samuel Boateng, Director of the Americas and Mr. Baah Duodo, Director of Policy Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, among others.
The meeting reviewed the good state of bilateral relations and the possibility of deepening cooperation in areas such as health and education, among others.
Foreign Minister Bruno thanked the Ghanaian government and people for their historic expressions of support for Cuba. The African President condemned the economic and commercial siege of the United States against the island and thanked Cuba for its collaboration in the training of Human Resources and with the Medical Brigades. He also expressed his admiration for our country, recognizing Cuba's role in the struggles for Africa’s independence and against Apartheid.
