President of the Senate acknowledges the work carried out by Cuban collaborators in Jamaica.

Kingston, Jamaica, 18 January 2019. During the opening ceremony of the International Seminar on Cardiology held today at the Heart Institute of the Caribbean, based in Kingston, Jamaica, Senate President Thomas Tavares-Finson praised the work carried out by Cuban health professionals who render their services in this sister Caribbean nation. Mr. Tavares-Finson highlighted the commendable contribution that Cuban collaborators have made to the Jamaican public health system for more than twenty years.

Senate President also referred to the special significance entailed by the recent commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution.

The ceremony was attended by H.E. Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Jamaica.
