President of the Senate of Grenada and Cabinet Members Bid Farewell to Cuban Ambassador

St. George,. The President of the Senate of Grenada, the Honorable Dessima Williams, convened Senators, Members of Parliament, and Ministers to bid farewell to Cuban Ambassador Ivette Martínez, who is concluding her mission on the island.

In an atmosphere of camaraderie and solidarity, the hostess acknowledged the work of the Cuban diplomat and her contribution to strengthening parliamentary relations between Cuba and Grenada.

On behalf of the Cabinet, Minister Lennox Andrew commended Ambassador Martínez's dedication and professionalism in promoting bilateral cooperation, which resulted in the signing of seven cooperation agreements in areas of mutual interest.

Parliamentarian Peter David, Dr. Malachy Dottin, Coordinator of Graduates in Cuba, and Dr. Terrence Marryshow, representing the Grenada-Cuba Solidarity Movement, also offered their congratulations and thanks to the diplomat for her mission.

Ambassador Martínez expressed her deep gratitude for the warm welcome and noted that her stay in Grenada was marked by the unwavering solidarity of the Government, the political will of leaders and institutions to strengthen bilateral relations, and the hospitality of the Grenadian people. She reiterated that the results achieved in her mission were shared with everyone present, who always accompanied her in her various tasks.

The diplomat concluded by emphasizing that the best way to show solidarity with Cuba is to prevent any setbacks and to continue denouncing the blockade policy that is suffocating the Cuban people.
