Vientiane, November 2023. At the invitation of the President of the Lao People's Supreme Court, Mrs. Viengthone Siphandone, the President of the Supreme People's Court of the Republic of Cuba, Mr. Rubén Remigio Ferro, paid an official visit to Lao PDR from November 15 to 18 of this year.
A positive exchange between the heads of the organs of justice took place during the bilateral meetings, in which there was agreement on the desire to promote cooperative relations in this area.
During the visit, Remigio Ferro received a warm welcome from the President of the Lao National Assembly, Xaysomphone Phomvihane, as well as his Vice President Chaleun Yiapahoer, who is also the head of the Laos-Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Committee. The visitor also paid a courtesy visit to the Lao People's Procurator, Xaysana Koutphouthone.
For his part, the Governor of Vientiane, Atsaphangthone Siphandone, presided over the welcome ceremony, which was attended by senior authorities and government officials.
Othe exchange of experiences took place during his visit to Luang Prabang province, where he paid a courtesy visit to the deputy governor and also held talks with the highest authorities of the district and provincial courts.
Remigio Ferro met with Cuban collaborators and also visited various centers of socio-economic and cultural interest.
Ambassador Enna Viant Valdés accompanied the Cuban delegation during its stay with the Vice President of the Supreme People's Court Sr. Yoisamkham and they gave him a warm welcome and farewell at the airport, along with other directors.
