The Ambassador of Cuba to the Republic of The Gambia, Lázaro Herrera Martínez was received at the State House by Dembo Bojang, United Democratic Party National President and Special Adviser to the President of the Republic.
During the meeting, which took place in a cordial and friendly atmosphere, both interlocutors expressed their willingness to work for the strengthening of bilateral ties in all spheres.
The Gambian political leader expressed the respect and gratitude of the Gambian people and Government and his own towards the Cuban Government and people and their leaders for the selfless help Cuba has always offered to the African peoples, especially The Gambia. In particular, he highly valued the medical assistance offered by the Caribbean island for more than two decades and noted that "Cuba has always been present when it was needed."
The Cuban diplomat, for his part, thanked the Gambia for its support to the main international battles waged by the Cuban people and expressed his willingness to continue working together for the development of the relations between both countries.
