President of Vietnam Fatherland Front, Tran Thanh Man, and Ambassador of Cuba, Lianys Torres Rivera, echanged in Hanoi about the cooperation between that organization and its Cuban counterpart, the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR).
By mentioning the activities organized on the occasion of CDR 60th anniversary (9-28-20), Ambassador gave Thanh Man an invitation from CDR National Coordinator to join an online seminar to conmemorate that date.
The diplomat congratulated her counterpart for the results of the recent National Emulation Congress in which Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc highlighted the Front´s achievements in promoting social programs related to the new rurality and the fight against poverty.
Thanh Man praised cooperation between the CDR and the Front as a contribution to the historic ties of friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba, which will celebrate six decades of diplomatic relations on December 2.
The Vietnamese leader reiterated the opposition of the Fatherland Front opposition to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on the island for almost 60 years.
Both parties recognized Vietnam and Cuba success of in the control and prevention of COVID-19 pandemic and agreed to resume visits in both directions once the epidemiological situation normalizes.
