Jakarta, April 20- The "Antara News" newspaper, one of the most widely circulated in Indonesia, published an article highlighting the re-election, by the Cuban parliament of Miguel Díaz-Canel, as president of Cuba for a second term.
The text underlines that the leader of the Communist Party obtained an overwhelming victory with 97.66 percent of the votes in the National Assembly. It also refers to the fact that in a televised speech, the re-elected president thanked the legislators for their support, reaffirmed his government's commitment to the revolutionary ideals of the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, while calling on them to face the future challenges of the nation.
The article also states that among those present in the National Assembly, was Raúl Castro and that the National Assembly also re-elected Salvador Valdés, as Vice President of the Republic and Manuel Marrero as Prime Minister.
Finally, the text refers to the fact that during the day, Díaz Canel accused the United States of America for the block that it has imposed on Cuba since the Cold War, while urging to maintain continuity to preserve the revolutionary spirit, to work more and better, for the welfare of the Cuban people.
