Havana, October 18, 2022.- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba appreciates the two million dollar assistance offered by the US State Department to help Cubans who are suffering the damages caused by hurricane Ian. Such assistance would be channeled through the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, an agency Cuba is a party to and with which it has had long and smooth relations.
This contribution will add up to the vast recovery and reconstruction efforts that are being carried out by the Cuban national authorities and the people.
Cuba has received and appreciated the material support and solidarity conveyed by several governments, international agencies and other countries in the cu light of the huge material damages caused by the hurricane and the tough recovery works.
