Jazz Night highlights cultural ties between Cuba and the U.S.

To the rhythm of the Guantanamera, Cubans and friends of the island in Washington D.C. exchanged about the cultural riches of the Caribbean nation. 
The evening featured the main performance of the outstanding Cuban singer Melvis Santana, who delighted the audience with a wide repertoire.
During the event, held at the Cuban Embassy in the United States, participants emphasized that culture is a close link between the two countries. 

Cuba and the United States hold migration talks in Washington, D.C.

On April 12, 2023, representatives of Cuba and the United States held bilateral migration talks in Washington D.C. Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos Fernández de Cossío Domínguez led the Cuban delegation and Department of Homeland Security’s Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Western Hemisphere David Cloe led the U.S. delegation.

The implementation of the bilateral Migration Accords was reviewed, the purpose of which is to guarantee regular, safe and orderly migration. Cuba reaffirmed its willingness to comply with and respect the commitments made, as it has done so far.

Cuba and U.S. to hold new round of immigration talks

Cuba and the United States will hold this Wednesday in Washington a new round of talks on migration issues, an official of the Cuban Foreign Ministry informed today.

The deputy director general for the United States of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Minrex), Johana Tablada, explained in statements to the press that the meeting will be held with the expectation of focusing on aspects that reiterate respect for the agreements for a safe and regular migration.

U.S. and Cuban educators strengthen scientific alliances

Cuban and U.S. educators advocated for further strengthening existing ties at the sixteenth edition of the Research Searches event, held here today under the auspices of the Association of Cuban Educators (APC).

As part of the collateral program of the event, a group of 42 academics of Master's and Doctorate degrees from the American universities of Maryland and George Washington (United States), held an exchange with their counterparts from the University of Physical Culture and Sports Sciences (Uccfd Manuel Fajardo).

Cuba and U.S. sign Memorandum of Understanding on marine and coastal ecosystems

With the aim of strengthening cooperation for the conservation of marine ecosystems, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the non-governmental organization The Ocean Foundation of the United States and the Institute of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA) of Cuba. 
The agreement, signed by the Chargé d'Affaires of the Cuban Embassy in the United States, Lianys Torres Rivera, and the president of The Ocean Foundation, Mark J. Spalding, will create opportunities for collaboration in marine science research. 

Cuban diplomats exchange views with U.S. church members

The impact of the sanctions and blockade measures by the United States government against Cuba were discussed during an exchange between Cuban diplomats and parishioners of the New York Avenue Presbyterian Church.
During the meeting, the diplomats explained the current situation of the island, particularly the economic transformations being carried out, as well as the aspects that characterize the bilateral relationship between the two countries today.

U.S. agricultural sector exchanges with Cuban diplomats in Washington

The U.S. agricultural sector has for years defended trade links between Cuba and the United States, said members of the U.S. Agricultural Coalition for Cuba during a meeting with Cuban diplomats.

The meeting, held at the Cuban Embassy in the United States, was also attended by members of the Arkansas Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee, groups interested in trade with Cuba and U.S. Congressional offices with jurisdiction over the issue.

Cuba stresses importance of full compliance with immigration agreements with the U.S.

Briefing the press on the course of the round of migration talks with the United States that took place today in Havana, Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos Fernández de Cossío said that the Cuban delegation welcomed the announcement of the full resumption of immigrant visa services at the U.S. Embassy in Cuba as of January 4, 2023.

At the same time, it reiterated the importance of the full restoration of immigration and consular services at the U.S. Embassy in Havana, particularly the processing of non-immigrant visas.
