Press Release: Cuba exchanges on institutional arrangements of the instrument prohibiting nuclear weapons, leading to their total elimination.

New York, 29 March2017. As part of the works of the United Nations Conference to negotiate a legally binding instrument to prohibit nuclear weapons, leading towards their total elimination, Cuba enlisted today some elements related with institutional arrangements of the legally binding instrument.  

Within this framework, the Cuban delegate Lilianne Sánchez Rodríguez reiterated that none of the provisions of the instrument will be construed as limiting or rendering ineffective the obligations of States under the Charter of the United Nations and existing instruments of nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation.
