Press Release: “Cuba extends its most heartfelt condolences on the unfortunate loss of Dr. Babatunde Osotimehin, Executive Director of the UN Population Fund.”

New York, 5 June 2017. Cuba extended its most heartfelt condolences on the sudden and unfortunate loss of Dr. Babatunde Osotimehin, at the segment of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), of the 2017 Annual Session of the Executive Board of UNDP, UNFPA and UNOPS. Hence, the Caribbean nation joined the statement made by GRULAC and that of the other Regional Representatives in such homage.

While conveying Cuba’s message, the Deputy Director of International Economic Bodies at the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Carlos Fidel Martín Rodríguez, highlighted the outstanding work of Dr. Osotimehin, as a great public health world leader.
