Press Release: Cuban delegation participates in the UN Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management.

New York, August 3rd, 2017.  With the presence of Cándido A.  Regalado Gómez, Head of the National Office of Hydrography and Geodesics of Cuba;  and José Luis Capote Fernández, Head of the Project Department of GEOCOMIX/GEOCUBA, the island was represented at the 7th Session of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM).

In his statement, Regalado Gómez reiterated Cuba’s position on the importance of international cooperation to secure Geospatial Information Management in developing countries, as well as field contributions to sustainable development project and programs of developing countries.

The Cuban representative also stood for technology transfer to and development of capacities in developing countries, as key elements for Geospatial Information Management.
