New York, 8 June 2017. The Cuban Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Environment, José Fidel Santana Núñez, held a bilateral meeting with the Minister for Environment of Madagascar, Gilbert Francois, within the framework of the United Nations Conference to Support the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14: “Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development”.
During the meeting, collaboration opportunities were identified in different environmental issues. Both parts considered the possibility to carry out a future exploratory visit to Cuba, in order to identify mutual capabilities and priorities to foster and advance in cooperation between both countries.
