New York, 3rd, August, 2017. Cándido A. Regalado Gómez, Head of the National Office for Geodesy and Cartography; during the session of August 3rd in the framework of the 7th Session of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM) pointed out that the creation of fundamental data source, which connect geospatial and statistical information in different domains, should run parallel with the work related to the strengthening and diffusion of methods, technologies and standards. He added that this would imply that all member countries could have full access to geospatial information and data, in order to take better decisions in several fields.
The Cuban official also stressed the Cuban position related to the necessity of encouraging work among the experts that meet at the United Nations, in order to obtain better and earlier results in the integration of the geo-statistical information field.
