New York, 10 July 2017. Officials at the Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations welcomed numerous members of solidarity groups with Cuba, as well as other New York, Latin friends and representatives based in this city.
In the meeting, the participants along with the will to continue strengthening the support to the Cuban Revolution and the Bolivarian Revolution, outlined organizational actions aimed at commemorating the 91st birth anniversary of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, as part of the commemorative session organized from July 26th, nationalrebelliousness day, to November 25th, first anniversary of his physical disappearance.
As part of such session, a number of commemorative activities are being set out to boost the will to keep alive the thinking and personality of Fidel in this city, as well as the recognition to his legacy of social justice, equity, sovereignty and independence.
Likewise, the meeting was an appropriate occasion to hand in, on behalf of Cuba, the seal of Guantánamo City to the Coordinators of the Venceremos Brigade. In her words, Ambassador Ana Silvia Rodríguez Abascal, highlighted Cuba’s recognition and thankfulness to their invaluable work of solidarity, unwavering friendship and commitment with the Cuban people and its Revolution.
