New York, 12 December 2016.- Following the demise of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, numerous people and groups of solidarity with Cuba, based in this city, have communicated orally and in written form, their unshavering friendship and commitment with our Revolution.
The brotherly spirit of friends, representatives of different organizations joined in the act of solidarity with Cuba held across from the Mission premises; the black community tribute to the leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro Ruz, organized by the December 12 Movement at Harlem´s “All Souls” Episcopal Church, as well as the fraternal messages received by the Socialist Workers Party and Young Socialists; the Communist Party of New York State; the Venceremos Brigade, among others of similar scope, reaffirm their friendship with Cuba and the ever-increasing commitment with its people and its revolutionary process.
There still is considerable flow of messages through the internet and within social networks, among which articles by the Workers World Party stand out. Such articles, both in prose and poetry, reveal numerous expressions of admiration for Fidel, which likewise were conveyed by members of the Party’s delegation and all friends who visited the Cuban diplomatic Mission during the latest days, to express recognition to his legacy of social justice, equity sovereignty and independence, in the condolence book opened as part of the solemn ceremony carried out in our Mission.
