According to the official media report on 15.05.2024 issued by the State Secretary of the United States of America, Cuba has been re-listed on the list of countries sponsoring terrorism. It is clear that this is a unilateral and unfounded decision against a sovereign and peaceful country.
Cuba's re-inclusion on the list is just another pretext for maintaining the economic, commercial and financial blockade against the country, the extraterritorial effects to which have a direct impact on EU member states and companies. The sanctions imposed on the country, not only limit aid and trade with the US, but also entail significant international restrictions that negatively affect trade relations with other countries.
As such we condemn the unilateral and arbitrary decision taken by the US State Secretary to re-include Cuba on the list of countries sponsoring terrorism and urge to take necessary steps to remove Cuba from the above list.
