New York, 13 June 2017. Headed by the Deputy Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, Ambassador Ana Silvia Rodríguez Abascal, a numerous group of officials from the Cuban Mission visited the Permanent Mission of Nicaragua, to pay homage to the memory of Father Miguel D'Escoto and sign the condolence book which has been opened, within the diplomatic headquarters, on his recent decease.
Welcomed by the Permanent Representative of Nicaragua, Ambassador Maria Rubiales de Chamorro, and members of the Nicaraguan diplomatic Mission, such homage became a meeting between both friendly nations to exchange on his legacy, everlasting example, greatness of his work and the strength of his convictions in the struggle for peace in Nicaragua and the world, who will always be remembered as an endearing friend of the peoples worldwide, specially the Cuban people and its historical leader, Fidel Castro Ruz.
