New York, 5 January 2016. -Coinciding with his very first days in office, the Secretary General of the United Nations, H.E. Mr. António Guterres, conveyed a message of congratulations to Cuba on the occasion of the 58th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution.
“All that we strive for as a human family -dignity and hope, progress and prosperity- depends on peace”, he reiterated while recalling his call for peace, made during his first day in office as Secretary General of the Organization.
As part of his message, the Secretary General availed himself of the opportunity to confirm that he counts on the active participation and contribution of Cuba to help construct a stronger United Nations Organization and promote shared efforts to guarantee peace, development and human rights for all.
