St George, April 15. The Grenadian Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell offered statements to the national press upon arriving at the Maurice Bishop International Airport, to report the results of his Official Visit to Cuba between April 11 and 14, 2024.
In the presence of his Cabinet and the members of the delegation that accompanied him, the Primer Minister said: “We owe it to the Cuban people to show solidarity with them and continue to ask for the elimination of the economic blockade against the people of Cuba and the elimination of Cuba from the list of countries that sponsor terrorism. I want to emphasize this last point because by continuing to do so, the United States is preventing millions of ordinary men and women from around the world from visiting and experiencing the wonder that is Cuba."
The visit takes place within the framework of the celebrations for the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Grenada, on April 14, 1979. Relations that will see a boost with the recent visit, in which four memorandums of understanding were signed. in agriculture, education, environmental protection and fishing.
Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell thanked each activity on the Island and the possibility of verifying biotechnological development, programs aimed at special education, aquaculture projects and strategies for the conservation of the history and cultural development of the nation.
“Cuba certainly has a lot to teach the world, a lot to share with the world and the continued blockade, the continued unjust inclusion of Cuba as a State that sponsors terrorism is actually preventing Cuba from giving more of itself to the world,” he remarked.
