St. George, March 3, 2026 – The Prime Minister of Grenada, the Honorable Dickon Mitchell, received the new Cuban Ambassador, Yadirys Echenique Paz, at his office in the Ministerial Complex.
In the friendly meeting, the Grenadian leader welcomed the Cuban representative and wished her success in her new role. Both sides acknowledged the positive state of political and cooperative relations and reviewed the status of agreements signed in recent years.
The Cuban Ambassador conveyed greetings from Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and expressed her gratitude for the Grenadian government's annual support of the Cuban Resolution at the United Nations against the blockade imposed by the U.S. government.
On April 14, Cuba and Grenada will celebrate the 47th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. During all those years, more than 700 Cuban collaborators have provided services in the sister nation in different areas and around 400 Grenadians have studied in Cuba.
