The Ministry of Health, Welfare and Environment  of St. Vincent and the Grenadines commemorated the first anniversary of the Modern Georgetown Medical and Diagnostic Center with a ceremony for a year of medical excellence.

Luke Browne, Minister of Health, referred to the permanent expansion of the services offered by the Center, to the process of improvement of medical care and equipment, and at the same time he praised the performance of the 22 Cuban health professionals who work there.

Ralph Gonsalves highlighted the impulse that Army General Raúl Castro gave to the continuation of the project and to the fulfillment of the commitments assumed at the time by Fidel.

Gonsalves thanked Cuba for its contribution to the Center and referred to the praiseworthy work of Cuban medical personnel in ensuring the medical excellence of the institution.

The Prime Minister concluded that the Georgetown Medical Center is built on the foundations of Latin American and Caribbean solidarity and brotherhood and is a symbol of the importance of unity.

During the activity, awards were presented to the Center's staff, including four members of the Cuban Medical Brigade.

The Medical Center, for its part, recognized Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves for his vision and perseverance in relation to the construction of this institution.
