Promoting the destination Cuba in Thessaloniki, Greece

Thessaloniki, Greece February 5th . In Thessaloniki, capital of the Macedonian region of northern Greece, an attractive presentation of the destination Cuba was made, organized by the Greek tour operator Cosmorama Ltd.
Elizabeth Rivas, executive of the MeliaCuba chain, took the floor, as well as executives of Cosmorama Ltd, one of the 10 tour operators that promote Cuba destination in this sister country.
The counselor of the Embassy of Cuba José Oriol Marrero Martinez greeting the event on behalf of the mission, thanked the interest in our country, commented on the historical ties between Cuba and Greece. He explained that José Martí spoke in his Works, or translated, several Greek motifs that took place in this region, the cradle of Alexander the Great, and place where the mythical Mount Olympus, quoted by Martí 9 times in his Works, including in a poem, is located.
The important event was attended by more than 100 travel agents from Thessaloniki itself, and from nearby - and not so close - cities such as Ekateriní, Bollos or Karditsa.
More than one million inhabitants live in the Thessaloniki region. It is the second city in Greece, where next November will take place the International Tourism Fair of Greece Philoxenia 2020.
In Athens, the Greek capital, a similar presentation on the destination Cuba will also take place on Friday, February 7, with travel agents.
The event held in Thessaloniki spoke of tourism, history, traditions, cultural exchange, people-to-people exchange, between two sister nations: Greece and Cuba.
