Nassau, February 11th, 2020. Cuban Ambassador Alejandro García del Toro paid a courtesy visit to the Honorable Romauld Ferreira, Minister of Environment and Urban Planning of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.
Accompanied by the permanent secretary of that ministry, Janice Miller, they exchanged about the difficult challenges facing the Caribbean islands in environmental matters. They also evaluated different themes associated with environmental protection, which have similar elements in the two archipelagos due to the geographical characteristics of both countries.
The Cuban ambassador offered a summary explanation of the Life Task, a long-term government strategy arranged by the State and the Government to face the most urgent challenges that Cuba has in the field of nature protection and sustainable development in the next hundred years. Both parties agreed that it is an area in which profitable cooperation spaces could be established.
