Ratifies its support for Cuba friendship association in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, April 22 - On Saturday, April 21, the 8th Annual General Meeting of the friends of  Cuba association in Malaysia (FOCA) took place, where its members ratified their decision to continue supporting Cuba.

During the meeting, a review was made of the work carried out in 2017 and different initiatives were drawn up to draw up the plan of activities for the current year. Mr. Fahmy Khai was re-elected as president of FOCA, for the third consecutive year.

The association conveyed a message of congratulations to the new president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz Canel, and reiterated solidarity with Cuba in its main battles, where the fight against the blockade occupies a primordial place.

The ambassador of Cuba, Ibete Fernández Hernánez, who was present at the meeting, thanked the organization for its existence and urged them to join efforts to expand the dissemination of Cuban reality in the country.

She also highlighted the outcome of the general elections in Cuba that are translated into continuity and commitment of the new generations to the legacy of his heroes and martyrs. She said that the elections acquire a greater meaning by having taken place in a year that will commemorates the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the wars of independence that showed Cubans the way to obtain its emancipation.
