Kingston, Jamaica, 13 November 2021. The 15th National Scientific Forum of the Cuban Medical Mission in Jamaica was held today at the National Chest Hospital in Kingston.
From September through October, all 25 cooperation brigades carried out their basic scientific events. A total of thirteen scientific papers were selected for presentation in this national event, in the modalities of conferences and posters.
The following papers were awarded:
- Experience in dealing with Covid-19 at Linstead Hospital, St. Catherine.
- Cardiovascular failure in a patient with atrial myxoma at Cornwall Hospital, Montego Bay.
- Type of dermatological condition in a gynaecological patient at the Princess Margaret Hospital, St Thomas.
- Nursing care of mechanically ventilated Covid-19 patients at the Spanish Town Hospital.
The Forum was accredited by the Medical Council of Jamaica and participants were awarded a total of 7.5 academic credits.
Within the framework of the Forum, the members of the Cuban Medical Brigade sent congratulations and words of encouragement to the Cuban people, who victoriously face the difficulties imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic and the imperialist aggressions, reaffirming every day that Cuba is Alive, and Moves forward!
