NIGERIA, July 26, 2017. Representatives of the WFTU were received at the Cuban Embassy in Nigeria by the Chargé d'Affaires, Leydis Bernal Suárez.
Members of Greece, Gabon, Ghana, South Africa, among others, paid a visit to the Cuban Mission in Abuja as part of the International Solidarity Campaign with Cuba that the FMS is carrying out.
WFTU President Mzwandile Michael Makwayiba and his Secretary-General George Mavrikos, who led the delegation, delivered to the Embassy a plaque of the world organization, as well as a resolution ratifying unconditional support for the struggle to eliminate the blockade against the people of Cuba and for the return of territory illegally occupied at Guantanamo.
The diplomatic official expressed gratitude on behalf of the Government and the Cuban people for the support received from the WFTU in the different battles fought with the help of its members.
The WFTU is an international federation of trade unions founded on October 3, 1945 in Paris. It is the second oldest international trade union organization in the world and founder of the International Labor Organization (ILO).
